Jeddah Islamic Port remains one of the most important maritime gateways on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, and investment in terminal capacity and operational infrastructure continues.
Recent investment points to continued growth
In August 2026, Red Sea Gateway Terminal and CMA CGM announced a strategic agreement to jointly develop and operate Terminal 4 at Jeddah Islamic Port, in collaboration with the Saudi Ports Authority. The announced investment is approximately SAR 1.6 billion.
This follows other major upgrades at the port, including expansion and modernization of container-terminal infrastructure and continued additions to shipping connectivity.
What changes for vessel-support expectations?
More capacity and connectivity generally mean more complex port-call activity: tighter schedules, larger vessels, more service providers and greater pressure on coordination. For ship suppliers and marine contractors, the response has to be operational rather than promotional — fast confirmation, clear scope and realistic delivery planning.
Prepare the request before arrival
Vessel operators can make support more efficient by sending the port call, ETA, terminal or berth, supply list or technical scope and required delivery window as early as possible. When the call changes, updating those details quickly is just as important as the original request.
